On June 28th, 2023, at 10:30 am, the Sresakthimayeil Institute of Nursing and Research, organized a program to celebrate Eat Your Vegetable Day. The event commenced with a prayer song, setting a positive and uplifting atmosphere. Following that, Mrs. Jamunarani, the Principal of the institute, who holds an M.Sc. and Ph.D., delivered a speech in honor of the Eat Your Vegetable Day celebration. As the Chief Guest,
Mrs. K. Devi, who possesses an M.Sc. (specializing in Food Science and Nutrition), an M.Phil., B.Ed., addressed the audience on the importance of nutritional assessment and the significance of nutrition in our lives. Her speech likely shed light on the various aspects of maintaining a balanced diet and the benefits of consuming vegetables. During the program, a vegetable salad-making competition took place, involving students from various colleges. The Chief Guest and the Principal, Mrs. R. Jamunarani, served as judges for the competition. The participants showcased their creativity and culinary skills by preparing nutritious and visually appealing salads using a variety of vegetables. After careful evaluation, the winners of the competition were determined, and prizes and certificates were distributed to the successful students. Here winners are JKKN College of pharmacy– I Prize, JKKN College of Engineering and technology – II Prize, JKKN College of Nursing and Research and JKKN Dental College and Hospital– III Prize. This recognition not only acknowledged their talent but also encouraged others to adopt healthy eating habits. The program aimed to enhance the participants & understanding of nutritional status for different age groups.
