Clubs, culture, safety and community
JKKN hostels are safe, clean, and community-driven. Separate boys' and girls' hostels are within campus — meaning 5-minute walks to classrooms and the library. Facilities include hygienic dining halls, Wi-Fi, laundry services, reading rooms, gyms, medical support and 24x7 security. Female-only hostels have female-only staff and visitor restrictions. Most rooms are shared by 3-4 students, building lasting friendships.
JKKN hosts 40+ active student clubs — coding and hackathon club, pharmaceutical society, dental student association, nursing leaders club, literary and debate society, Tamil sangam, English club, music and theatre troupe, photography club, social welfare club, entrepreneurship cell, sports teams, NSS wing, NCC squad, and rotary and lions youth chapters. New clubs launch annually based on student interests.
Campus safety is prioritised — 24x7 security personnel, 200+ CCTV cameras, female-only transport routes, active anti-ragging committee, Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) for harassment complaints, dedicated women's safety helpline, regular safety workshops, and partnerships with Kumarapalayam police station. Statistics show zero major incidents in the last 5 years, reflecting robust governance.
Dining includes — three hygienic mess halls with vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals three times daily, North and South Indian menu rotation, dietary options for Jain/Halal requirements, a food court with multiple cuisines (Chettinad, Chinese, Punjabi, fast food), coffee and juice bars, bakery, and subsidised fruit stalls. Monthly menu is planned by a nutritionist and reviewed by the student council.
